Advocacy Tool Kit on Pediatric HIV Treatment
Overview
In partnership with the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA), the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) developed a tool kit on pediatric HIV treatment to guide African First Ladies in their advocacy efforts in country and within the region. With this toolkit, the First Ladies Offices have statistics, messages and key actions that they can undertake to advocate on pediatric HIV treatment. The tool kit touches on key areas important to addressing pediatric HIV treatment, including: PMTCT, early infant diagnosis (EID) and linkage to care, pediatric formulations, and stigma and discrimination. This toolkit will facilitate the achievement of the goals that OAFLA has developed in its strategic plan of 2014-2018. The Pediatric HIV Tool Kit was presented by EGPAF during a capacity building workshop for Technical Advisers to the First Ladies in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on January 27, 2016.
