Replicating the ECHO Model for Mentorship in Côte d’Ivoire
Overview
This is the final evaluation report for the Côte d’Ivoire (CDI) Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) project. This report is a pre- and post-evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods of the six-month pilot of the TeleECHO Distance Learning Model in CDI. CDI ECHO aimed to strengthen capacity for health care providers to treat complex and chronic health conditions in underserved communities by linking less-experienced providers with subject matter experts. Providers engaged in weekly meetings via video and teleconference (TeleECHO sessions), during which they listened to a short didactic session, shared challenging cases, and asked questions about and discuss best practices. The objective of this project was to develop and demonstrate an effective telehealth clinical mentorship model of HIV care and treatment in a resource-constrained setting.
