EGPAF implemented the “Reaching Adolescents in Urban Settings Project” from 2015-2017, through generous support from the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF). The project was jointly implemented in Lusaka, Zambia and Kisumu, Kenya, in collaboration with the Kenya and Zambia Ministries of Health.  The project worked toward increasing demand and access for HIV/AIDS services among adolescents in project areas. This end-of-project report summarizes the project activities, results and recommendations.

HPV Vaccination Uptake and Acceptability of HPV/HIV Integrated Services Models for Adolescent Girls in Mozambique and Zimbabwe

Published June 2026

This study found that integrating HPV vaccination into HIV prevention and treatment services in Mozambique and Zimbabwe significantly increased vaccine uptake among girls at heightened risk of HPV and cervical cancer, while achieving high caregiver acceptance and satisfaction with the integrated care model.
