Community Focal Mothers Keep Mothers and Babies in Care in Eswatini

Overview

This brief describes a successful model implemented in Eswatini wherein HIV-positive and treatment adherent mothers were recruited, trained, and compensated to liaise between communities and health facilities with the ultimate goal of ensuring all women enrolled in prevention of mother-to-child treatment were adherent to HIV medications and maternal and child health care from pregnancy through breastfeeding cessation.
