Through funding from Johnson & Johnson, EGPAF aims to identify and introduce effective, scalable strategies to improve health outcomes and to provide youth-focused HIV and PMTCT services to both HIV-positive and HIV-negative pregnant and lactating adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Kakamega County. The project’s objectives are to increase the number of HIV-positive AGYW who access and are retained in PMTCT services, increase the proportion of infants born to HIV-positive AGYW who receive a virologic HIV test within two months of birth, improve access to HIV and sexual reproductive health (SRH) services and facilitate return to school among pregnant and lactating AGYW, while strengthening health worker capacity to provide comprehensive HIV/SRH services.
