EGPAF thrilled to join URC and partners on new USAID/Uganda Health Activity Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. – 7 December, 2022 –The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is delighted to announce that it is a consortium partner on the newly awarded, URC-led project: the USAID/Uganda Health Activity (UHA). The five-year, $140 million cooperative agreement seeks to strengthen the Ugandan health system and increase the survival and well-being of vulnerable populations in priority districts.
The agreement, which builds upon on the successful implementation of the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services (RHITES) Activities in Uganda, focuses on scaling up high impact practices across technical areas while incorporating new elements of integration and local ownership. EGPAF is joined by consortium partners: Communication for Development Foundation Uganda, FHI 360, Marie Stopes Uganda, Panagora Group, and Youth Alive.
“EGPAF is honored to work alongside this consortium of partners in support of URC’s efforts to improve and sustain lasting positive health outcomes for the people of Uganda. Together, we will continue our work for an AIDS-free generation by ensuring that needs of children, youth, and families remain included in the efforts to strengthen health systems, improve health services, and enhance health outcomes at the individual, community, and regional levels”, said Dr Edward Bitarakawte, EGPAF Country Director in Uganda.
