Washington, D.C.—March 30, 2021—The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is pleased to announce that Blessing Rugara, Chief Executive Officer at Circle Capital Global, has joined its Board of Directors.
“I am thrilled to welcome Blessing Rugara to EGPAF’s Board of Directors,” said Jack Leslie, Chair of the Board of Directors. “We are grateful for his distinguished expertise in finance, entrepreneurial spirit, and policy experience to help guide the Foundation’s operations, and we are certain that Blessing’s contributions will support the Foundation’s work towards ending AIDS in children, youth, and families.”
Rugara is an entrepreneur with a background in finance and law. Prior to his current 17 year tenure as Founder & CEO of the Mauritius based investment firm Circle Capital Global, he was a partner at Mackall, Crounse and Moore corporate law practice group. Rugara has served as Senior Advisor to Heads of State and Government as well as advising large entities in private equity transactions across Africa. Originally from Zimbabwe, and now splitting his time between the U.S. and Southern Africa, Rugara has strong connections to some of the communities most impacted by the global AIDS epidemic. He brings both his professional experience and personal passion for reaching people and populations affected by HIV and AIDS to his new role on the Foundation’s Board.
“Improving vulnerable communities’ access to comprehensive HIV prevention, care, and treatment services alongside high-quality health care is critical work during these extraordinary times,” said Rugara. “EGPAF’s leadership in the global fight for an AIDS-free generation is inspiring, and I am proud to be a part of these life-saving efforts.”
