Evaluation of the Impact of Point-of-Care Early Infant Diagnostic (EID) Testing on Timely Receipt of EID Testing Results in HIV-infected Children

This Unitaid-funded mixed methods study utilized a randomized step-wedge design to assess the impact of point-of-care (POC) versus conventional early infant diagnostic (EID) testing on key outcomes in Kenya and Zimbabwe. Data were collected through longitudinal clinical follow-ups, medical chart extractions, interviews with mothers and caregivers, and community focus groups.
