Namibia

Overview

Namibia has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world (click here to read more about the HIV and AIDS epidemic in Namibia), at 11% among the general population. The epidemic is targeting women of reproductive age and their children in the country.

Our Work

In 2015, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation began working with Namibia’s Ministry of Health to offer technical assistance in creating greater access to higher quality prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission and pediatric and adult care and treatment. The award, which ended in 2020, enhanced provision of health care services for women, children, and families. To find out more about our TA activities, and our approaches and TA models, click here.
