Guinea

Overview

There are over 110,000 individuals currently living with HIV in Guinea, the vast majority of whom are women and children. In 2021, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation partnered with Guinea’s Ministry of Health to create greater access to HIV testing in the time of COVID-19.

Our Work

As of November 2021, EGPAF was beginning to support Guinea-Conkary’s HIV and AIDS programming through expert technical assistance. The goal of this technical assistance is to create greater access to HIV self-testing DSD models, adaptations and/or innovations among spouses of pregnant women. Our TA will also focus on improved efficiency and quality of services ultimately reducing morbidity and mortality and community transmission of HIV through early diagnosis, high treatment coverage, treatment retention and viral load suppression.
