Washington, D.C.—March 25, 2021—The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is pleased to announce its continued partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation to support the fight for an AIDS-free generation.
In 2017, the Keith Haring Foundation awarded $1 million to EGPAF for distribution over four years. The two organizations are proud to announce the extension of this joint effort, as the Keith Haring Foundation grants EGPAF another $1 million to further their shared goal of ending AIDS.
“EGPAF is honored to receive the ongoing support of The Keith Haring Foundation,” said Chip Lyons, President and CEO of EGPAF. “EGPAF’s work towards ending AIDS in children, youth, and families would not be possible without the support of partners like The Keith Haring Foundation. Especially now, in the face of deep disruptions to the global HIV response due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever that we join together to prioritize maintaining progress in the fight to end AIDS around the world.”
“The Keith Haring Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children and increasing access to quality HIV and AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services,” said Gil Vazquez, Acting Director of the Keith Haring Foundation. “We are proud to once again support the critical work EGPAF is doing to help young people affected by HIV live long, healthy lives.”
This grant will allow EGPAF to sustain and expand comprehensive HIV and AIDS services such as counseling, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, alongside high-quality family health care in the world’s most affected regions. EGPAF thanks the Keith Haring Foundation for these vital resources and their unwavering commitment to one day see a world where no mother, child, or family is devastated by this disease.

About the Keith Haring Foundation:
Established in 1989 by the late artist Keith Haring (1958-1990), the Keith Haring Foundation supports US-based non-profit organizations that provide educational opportunities to underserved youth as well as to organizations that engage in education, prevention and care related to AIDS and HIV. Haring additionally charged his Foundation with maintaining and protecting his artistic legacy. The Foundation maintains a large collection of his art, along with archives that facilitate historical research about the artist and the times and places in which he lived and worked. The Foundation supports arts and educational institutions by funding programs and publications that serve to contextualize and illuminate the artist’s work and philosophy. During the last years of his life, Haring often enlisted his imagery to speak about his own illness and to generate activism and awareness about HIV and AIDS. To date, his Foundation has provided over $35 million in funding to charities meeting his mandate. For further information about Haring and the Keith Haring Foundation, visit www.haring.com
