- Many young people are taking an interest in advocacy and activism for the first time. What advice would you give to them as they are starting out?
If you feel you have a story to tell, then tell it somewhere someone can relate.
- What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as an activist/advocate?
I’ve realized that there’s always going to be people who aren’t willing to learn or listen to what you have to say. I build off of those that I can help and push towards positivity and acceptance.
- Outside of your work on HIV/AIDS, what is a social justice cause you’re passionate about?
Advocating against bullying has become a passion of mine because of the stigma that I have gone through in my life. I want to help others to accept each other for their differences!
- Is there anything you’re a total geek about, and why?
Leopard, zebra, giraffe, etc…animal print. My room looks like a jungle.
- If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent that you did not have to put any effort into learning, what would it be and why?
If I could be just an outstanding dancer that would be a dream. I was in jazz, hip-hop, and a little of ballet growing up. I was good, but I always wanted to be one of those girls you could just watch dance for hours.
