Dancer Diaries: Baldwin Wallace Stands UP 4 THE FIGHT

Baldwin Wallace Dance Marathon participants at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH stood UP 4 THE FIGHT with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) on March 1, 2014. Dancers, supporters, volunteers, and guests participated in educational activities, learned 10 choreographed dance routines, and reflected on what they had learned during their 12 hours of dancing.

Freshmen Shelton Evans was the top fundraiser for this year’s Dance Marathon. After hours on his feet dancing and listening to inspiring stories from EGPAF Foundation Ambassador Jamie Gentile, Evans described his BWDM experience as “surreal.”

“It’s a surreal experience, being a part of something like this. It’s bigger than us and to be a part of something that is a worldwide movement, is something that’s so important to me, and it’s important to many other people.”

With support from friends and family, students at Baldwin Wallace raised $27,450.  Baldwin Wallace Dance Marathon has been fundraising for EGPAF for 13 years. Check out a video recap of the event below!
