The Young Adult Survey of Zimbabwe (YAZ): Using Data to Better Characterize and Serve Children and Adolescents at Risk of HIV and Child Violence in Zimbabwe

This CDC-funded national household survey aims to estimate the prevalence of violence among Zimbabwean youth ages 13-24 and to characterize the relationship between violence and HIV. The survey will also explore potential risk and protective factors for violence against children, identify health and social outcomes of violence against children, and assess the knowledge and utilization of and barriers to services available for children who have experienced violence. Study results will guide strategies to identify, respond to, and prevent violence against children and HIV acquisition.
