Actor and Comedian Donald Faison helps fight pediatric AIDS on ABC’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire

Host Jimmy Kimmel’s challenging questions during the celebrity edition of ABC’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire took on special meaning this week when actor and comedian Donald Faison joined the primetime program to raise funds to combat pediatric AIDS.

Faison displayed his signature wit and intelligence – and his compassion for children in need – as he played Millionaire on behalf of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). His appearance on the show raised the visibility of children living with HIV/AIDS for millions of television viewers, and his prize money generated thousands of dollars for EGPAF. The funds will be instrumental in expanding prevention programs, providing lifesaving treatment to children impacted by HIV/AIDS and strengthening innovative research across Africa.

Known for his roles in films like Clueless and the television series Scrubs, Faison has captured hearts worldwide with his comedic talent and heartfelt performances. Scrubs co-star Zach Braff was his teammate on Millionaire.

“Donald’s enthusiasm and genuine compassion make him an invaluable partner in our mission,” said Trish Devine Karlin, EGPAF’s Executive Vice President of External Affairs and Business Development. “HIV infections in children have been cut by 70% worldwide – and with greater attention and resources it’s possible to build an AIDS-free generation.”

EGPAF extends its heartfelt gratitude to Donald Faison for his extraordinary generosity and unwavering support. EGPAF also thanks ABC for creating an opportunity with Millionaire for celebrities to support nonprofit organizations. Together, we are one step closer to a world without pediatric AIDS.
