The objective of this Cepheid-funded investigational study was to conduct a performance evaluation of the Xpert HIV-1 Qual XC test detection of HIV-1 total nucleic acids in dried blood spot (DBS) specimens. The performance on the Xpert HIV-1 Qual XC was compared to the Roche DBS test and other standard of care tests (rapid Ab/Ag and/or HIV ELISA tests) performed at the site.
