Tanzania

HIV is the sixth leading cause of death in Tanzania, affecting approximately 1.7 million people. HIV prevalence disproportionately affects women in this country and has left hundreds of thousands’ of children ages 0-17 orphaned. Tanzania has the third highest number of HIV-positive children in sub-Saharan Africa.

Lesotho

HIV is the leading cause of death in Lesotho, affecting nearly a quarter of the population. TB is the nation’s second leading cause of death and a dangerous opportunistic infection for people living with HIV. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), seeks to end pediatric HIV and AIDS and support the delivery of high-quality and comprehensive health services to women, men, and children.

Cameroon

Of the 23,440,000 people living in Cameroon, approximately 510,000 are HIV-positive. There are 320,000 women and 31,000 children currently living with HIV in the country.
