Variety: Celebrating heroes and raising funds – Celebs pitch in at pediatric AIDS benefit

Variety recaps the Foundation’s Disney-sponsored fundraising picnic, A Time For Heroes, where celebrities work carnival booths and families have fun for a good cause, the elimination of pediatric HIV and AIDS worldwide.

"The June gloom did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm at Sunday's a Time for Heroes Celebrity Picnic sponsored by Disney. The event raised well over $1 million for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Celebs worked it in the carnival booths: Carl Reiner and Seth Green read in the storytime corner, gold medalist Evan Lysacek painted faces, Dick Van Dyke performed a special tune and Nigel Barker helped revelers assemble kits headed for expectant mothers in Africa and India."
