AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth, and Families is a national nonprofit that represents women, children, youth, and families living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. The organization’s annual conference, Voices
, brings together individuals affected by HIV/AIDS to discuss ongoing challenges and issues and advocate for increased support from policymakers and the public.
In recognition of the Foundation’s Ambassador Program
, the Foundation was asked to lead a workshop focused on successfully advocating on behalf of HIV/AIDS-related causes. Directed at youth ages 17 to 25, the workshop “Youth Advocacy 101: Being an Effective Advocate for HIV/AIDS Causes” will feature Ambassadors Jake Glaser
and Cristina Pena
, who will use their own experiences to help illustrate the meaning of advocacy, different ways to advocate, and how to use one’s personal story in advocacy outreach.
