A Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic 2010

At the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic in Los Angeles on June 13, 2010, guests hung out with Hollywood’s hottest stars, played carnival games, and enjoyed unbelievable food while helping create a generation free of HIV. Thanks to the support of our donors and sponsors — including title sponsor Disney — this year's picnic raised $1.3 million to help the Foundation eliminate pediatric AIDS. Charles Lyons Visits Foundation Programs in South Africa: April 2010

During his visit, Charles dedicated a new facility at the Foundation-supported Thaba N'chu clinic in South Africa's Free State, and attended the official opening of the Foundation's new country office in Johannesburg. Tanzanian First Lady Visits Foundation Programs: March 2010

Mama Salma Kikwete, the first lady of Tanzania and a strong advocate on HIV and AIDS issues, visited several Foundation-supported health sites in March/April 2010, to learn about our work providing HIV prevention, care, and treatment services to children, women, and families. Rwanda Ariel Children's Camp: December 2009

In December 2009, 40 children between the ages of 8 and 19 gathered in northern Rwanda for the Ariel Children's Camp. The camp, named for Elizabeth Glaser's daughter Ariel, gives children with HIV the chance to learn about living with the virus, share experiences with other children facing the same challenges, and just have fun.
